“Some consequence yet hanging in the stars” …

Indeed, the sequence hangs suspended,
frozen as a cataract in winter.
The very stream of reason seems upended,
silent in time as hope begins to splinter.
Clock ticks, cold stone, scent of dread.
The façade of our edifice cracking
as oracles wheel overhead.

Hi Jana! I’ve been wanting to reply for a while — accidentally killed my keyboard last night, so I had to haul out an old laptop and give it CPR. It’s the only poem I’ve written with anyone else, and we were pretty excited about it. Identity is one of the concepts that just won’t leave me alone. I’ve been reading your blog — I think I’ll be spending a lot of time there. Your process and your results intrigue me. Write on!
